Call the Midwife Seasons 1–15 – 44-Disc DVD Box Set
Follow the nurses, midwives and community of Nonnatus House with Call the Midwife Seasons 1–15. This 44-disc DVD box set brings together stories of childbirth, friendship and changing family life in London’s East End. The set weighs approximately 1,180 g.
Life and Care in London’s East End
Set in the Poplar district of London, Call the Midwife follows a group of midwives and nursing sisters whose work places them at the centre of their community. Their daily rounds take them into homes where every family has a different story, and where medical care is closely connected to housing, work, relationships and personal circumstances.
Pregnancy and childbirth bring moments of celebration, uncertainty and difficult decision-making. Through these experiences, the series explores the trust between caregivers and patients, showing how listening, patience and practical support can matter alongside medical knowledge.
The Community Around Nonnatus House
Nonnatus House provides a shared home and working base for women with different backgrounds, beliefs and personalities. Their relationships develop through demanding shifts, unexpected challenges and the quieter moments they spend together away from their patients.
Friendship and humour offer balance to the responsibilities of their work. Differences of opinion sometimes lead to tension, but the midwives and sisters share a commitment to the people who depend on them. Their experiences connect professional duty with questions about belonging, independence and the direction of their own lives.
Families Facing a Changing World
The series follows a community adapting to social and medical change. New approaches to healthcare sit alongside established habits, while families navigate changing expectations around marriage, parenthood and women’s lives.
Individual stories look beyond the delivery room. Illness, financial pressure, loneliness and family conflict can shape a patient’s needs, making each visit an opportunity to understand the person behind the medical concern. The drama gives attention to both the people providing care and those learning to accept it.
Compassion, Friendship and Everyday Resilience
Call the Midwife combines period drama with character-focused storytelling. Its emotional range includes difficult experiences, hopeful beginnings and the small acts of kindness that help people through uncertain times.
Rather than relying on a single continuing storyline, the series combines individual patient stories with the developing lives of its recurring characters. This structure allows viewers to connect with new families while following the changing relationships within Nonnatus House and the wider neighbourhood.
